TOPIC 13 · Repair-Shop Communication

Report a Fault and Read a Repair Estimate

Start a repair request with observed symptoms, then separate diagnosis, agreed work and expected charges; a fault code is not a repair conclusion. Follow a driver with reduced power through reporting the concern and checking the work order and release estimate.

A reduced-power service call

Describe symptoms before agreeing to work

A driver notices reduced power and a warning. Once safely stopped, the driver contacts a shop and tells dispatch that the next pickup time cannot yet be confirmed.

01

In context

Report observations to the shop

Report the Fault Code 故障码, timing and observed behavior. A Derate 限功率 is a state, not a confirmed cause; it does not by itself identify a part to replace or justify an unfamiliar regeneration procedure.

Driver

“The truck has reduced power and a warning. Can you confirm what information you need before diagnosis?”

车辆动力受限并有警告,请确认诊断前需要哪些信息。

02

In context

Separate diagnosis, estimates and agreed work

A shop may charge a Diagnostic Fee 检测费 before providing a Repair Estimate 维修报价. Separate agreed diagnosis, expected charges and repairs not yet agreed, and check that the Repair Order 维修工单 describes the concern accurately.

03

In context

Confirm costs and expected availability

After checking labor rate, billed hours and parts, ask about expected Downtime 停运时间. A completion estimate is not a guarantee; discuss additional work, parts delays or diagnosis changes and compare the final invoice with the agreed scope.
