TOPIC 19 · Load Verification

Verify Load Identity and Pickup Instructions

An unfamiliar call, payment change, or new delivery point calls for independent verification; a change alone is not proof of fraud. Follow a warehouse pickup as the driver checks whether revised instructions came from an authorized contact.

A LAST-MINUTE PICKUP MESSAGE

Who can confirm changed instructions?

You are to pick up freight at a warehouse and deliver to the address on the order. Before departure, an unfamiliar message says the destination changed and provides a new phone number.

01

READ THE MESSAGE · DO NOT ASSUME

Displayed identity can be faked

The carrier's displayed name does not rule out Identity Theft 身份盗用 or Spoofing 身份伪装. A link might be Phishing 网络钓鱼, but a change alone does not prove fraud. Before acting on the new address, check the load's established contacts.

02

VERIFY · USE AN ESTABLISHED CHANNEL

Do not rely only on the new number

Use Callback Verification 回拨核实 through a previously trusted or independently checked channel, not only the number in the message. An unfamiliar carrier might raise a Double Brokering 未经授权的二次转交承运 concern, but the arrangement must be checked; not every handoff is fraud.

You ask the original dispatcher

“Please confirm who authorized the new delivery address before I change the trip.”

请先确认谁批准了新地址,我再更改行程。

03

REVISED MOVE · RETAIN CONFIRMATION

Delivery and payment changes are separate

After an authorized party confirms, keep the revised Dispatch Confirmation 调度安排确认. For Reconsignment 变更收货安排, check recipient, location, and documents. A separate Payment Redirection 付款改向 needs independent verification by the payer. A Blind Shipment 隐名运输 has agreed party visibility; do not infer hidden identities. Checking unusual instructions helps reduce Cargo Theft 货物盗窃 risk.
