Check In and Clarify Warehouse Exceptions
Warehouse instructions concern vehicle position, handling equipment and freight handoffs, each with its own next step. Follow a driver delivering palletized freight from waiting for a dock to checking a seal and recording an exception.
Read a Scale Ticket and Weight Distribution
Actual total weight, axle-group readings and vehicle ratings answer different questions, and an acceptable total does not clear every axle group. Follow a loaded combination through reading its ticket, reporting the figures and checking a reweigh after an adjustment.
Understand Cargo Securement Language
Cargo restraint depends on component capacity, connections and the load, not simply the number of straps. Follow a flatbed driver reviewing an equipment list, identifying ratings and edge protection, and clarifying the securement requirements.
Understand Refrigerated-Load Instructions
Refrigerated transport requires distinguishing shipment requirements, operating modes and different temperature readings; one display value cannot describe the whole load. Follow a driver collecting produce through preparation, mode confirmation and handoff records.
Report a Fault and Read a Repair Estimate
Start a repair request with observed symptoms, then separate diagnosis, agreed work and expected charges; a fault code is not a repair conclusion. Follow a driver with reduced power through reporting the concern and checking the work order and release estimate.
Read Mountain and Severe-Weather Notices
Grade signs, weather descriptions and traffic controls convey different information; an old screenshot does not replace current directions. Follow a driver planning a California mountain crossing through checking notices, reading roadside messages and reporting conditions.
Check Truck Routes and Road Limits
Navigation suggestions do not replace checks of truck dimensions, route class, and posted limits. Follow a semitrailer delivery as the driver and dispatch confirm the final miles before departure.
Read Duty and Driving Records
ELD duty statuses, special driving categories, and edits serve different purposes; an annotation cannot erase automatic driving time. Follow a driver reviewing yesterday's record and an unassigned movement.
